Compulsory Basic Training (CBT)

This course has been has running since December 1990. Anybody wishing to ride a motorbike or scooter on the road must complete the CBT course. The CBT course is not a test. However to gain a certificate[DL197] you must reach a required standard of control and saftey. This will enable you to ride unaccompanied on the road. please bring your glasses as an eye test is compulsory.[20.5 meters] Unsure what bike you can use. 16 years old – moped upto 50cc 17 years old – moped or motorcycle/scooter upto 125cc 21 years or older – as above or a larger machine. A full or provisional driving licience will be required.both plastic and paper parts for the new type licence. For all new road users it is compulsory to know the highway code.you will be asked questions about the highway code. For everyone else its a good idea to refresh your memory. The CBT course lasts one full day. However if you require further training to reach a good standard of saftey and control, or feel unsure about riding unaccompanied on the road,then we will ask you to return for more training. a small fee usually £30 will be required. All our instructors will give you the best advice on clothing, protection,saftey and equipment. They will also assess your riding ability and recommend a training package for you to reach the test standard.[practical/DAS test]. The course.
